For those who wish to learn the rules of chess, or simply wish to improve their opening skills, we recommend you visit www.chesskids.com click on SITE MAP and then click on LESSONS. The lessons are very easy to understand with simple diagrams along with simple short text explanations. It is especially useful for those parents who do not understand the rules of chess but find their children want to learn how to play. As a novice parent, by using the lessons, you will quickly pick up the rules of the game, and at the same time be able to confidently guide your child through the simple stages of learning chess. Effectively you will learn together. Further more, being able to play chess is not the same as being able to teach chess. It is also recommended that for those parents who can play chess to also use this site as a tool to teach their children to play, as it provides simple structured lessons that enable the parent to teach chess quickly and effectively.

A complete novice will be able to learn all the moves of the pieces and the basic principles of the game within 45 minuets of simple study. Thereafter, you will be able to play chess for the rest of your life.
